At ChampionsWay, we embrace the vision of a world where everybody gets the chance to live a happy life without missing the resources for proper physical, mental and spiritual development. Unfortunately, this ideal state still seems to be unattainable for many people living in developing countries. We know that we can’t change this situation by a swish of a wand, but as Mother Theresa (1910-1997) said: “We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”

Margaret Amoit, 11, uses a water pump that was installed by World Vision in her village of Iyolwa, Uganda. Before our staff dug this bore hole that supplies clean water to the area, the only water sources were contaminated. They also stopped producing water during the dry season.

Drought has hit Southern Africa hard, including the country of Zimbabwe, where this young boy lives. A World Vision-supported emergency feeding program is operational at the school he attends in his village, Vukuzenzele, near Bulawa. Food from the program helps to quiet students' hunger pangs so they can focus on their studies.

Life has been a great challenge for Merkebe Benite, 45, who has five children, including, Melo (pictured). Merkebe hadn't been able to provide the basic necessities for his wife and children on the $140 a year he previously made selling firewood. Because of World Vision's microenterprise loan program, however, he has obtained five beehives from which he now collects and sells honey. As a result, his income has skyrocketed to $833 a year, making it possible to feed his children with better food and send Melo, 5, to school.
As citizens of a country where people don’t have to experience circumstances with which many of our fellow humans live, we feel privileged and honored to be able to make a difference. As our company grows, our number of sponsored children grows as well. As of August 2007, our overseas family counted 12 members around the world.
These children receive:
an improved living environment
clean water and nutritious food
health care
access to education
These components give them the opportunity to become people who have the potential to make a difference in their own communities. By helping today, we can all make a better tomorrow.
ChampionsWay is committed to building a better tomorrow around the globe. That is why we will be sponsoring one new child every month in 2008. We invite you to help us make a difference. Sponsor a child today!
