Every product or service has its own value to someone!
If you are only teaching how to do kicks and punches, then
YES the value of your lessons should not be more than $50
a month! But if you are teaching my child about being more
positive, respectful, dedicated, motivated, strong, goal
oriented and learning how to defend himself;then to me,
and a lot of other people, your lessons are worth between
$200 to $400 a month.
There is no way I could ever teach my child all the
things that he could learn in a Martial Arts school,
especially with the amount of work I have to do to provide
for my family everyday. Where can I find a better place
than your Martial Arts school that would give my child the
confidence of a lifetime? Can he gain the same benefits
through his school or daycare? NO WAY…
- So what will it take for you to value and charge
more for what you really deserve! Make sure you are
taking the following steps before increasing your
monthly fee for Martial Arts lessons.
- Work on each student’s need individually by creating
a system in the classroom that pays equal attention to
all students.
- Progress check students on an individual basis in
your classrooms before giving stripes
- Pay special attention to parents or people who pay
the bills, when they visit your school
- Listen carefully to the reasons why students are no
longer showing up and then carefully analyze those
reasons.
- Don’t have egos. It’s always okay to change, even
Masters can and should change
- Create a system in your school that works like
clockwork, so you can help the students in need
(Remember progress equals retention)
- Decorate and run your school
professionally. Professionals can always gain people’s
trust
- Re-think your renewal and extension process to fit
your new price structure. You should find out and learn
more from other school owners who are currently charging
more for their lessons (Networking is so important)
- Offer professional services besides your Martial
Arts classes. You want an example;a great way to charge
more is to give virtual training as an additional option
to the students who are paying more. That way the
student can go home and check out their curriculum
online.
- Never enforce your new price change on your current
students. Give them a better deal than the new ones
- Always sell more than one program in your school,
one cheaper and one more expensive. Your more expensive
program should have more benefits
- When you just change your price, you must first be
confident to sell it for that price. If you think it is
expensive your students will too
- Remember it’s okay to be the most expensive if you
are the best and going to give more than everyone else
